I approached the owners of Fish Club late January 2005 to see if they would like to display some of my mosaic fish. It seems that I was in the right place at the right time because as Steve (one of the three managers) explained they had only been open a few months and had always intended to display artwork but had run out of budget. I'm pleased to say they liked my work and selected five pieces to display, which I hung with the help of my brother in law Jasen, the following week. All the work is for sale ranging in price between £400 - £600.
Its worth mentioning that Jasen is a talented artist himself specialising in abstract canvases and murals. You can view his work by clicking onto his website here - www.jasenbarker.freeuk.com
Fish Club is no ordinary fish and chips, it being recently reviewed in TimeOut magazine as offering 'Some of the best fish and chips in London'.
Customers can select the fish they require from the ice-strewn wet fish counter before having it cooked to their preference by critically acclaimed London chef James Thomson (previously chef at Medcalf - Winner of the TimeOut Award for Best Local Restaurant last year) deep fried (in an assortment of high quality batters), pan fried, grilled, baked whatever.....
Along with the more traditional fish they offer all manner of seafood - oysters, squid, shellfish, sushi etc.
It really is quality food and I'd recommend popping in if you're in the area.
Plus, now of course, customers can also look at some beautiful mosaic artwork while they're eating their meal or waiting for their order. Enjoy!
